George Washington Wilson

George Washington Wilson, age 100, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Tarrytown, New York to Augusta Marie Stank and Albert T. Wilson. George has one sister Claire van der Linde, 98 survive him. His sister Betty and brothers Richard and Charles and his wife Carol preceded him in death. George was raised at the Masonic home, Utica New York, joined the Army, became a Civil Engineer and after moved to S. Florida working in the construction industry while raising his family. He was a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, until he moved to Jacksonville, Fl. in 2012. George enjoyed gardening, reading and playing pool. He wanted to live to celebrate his 100 birthday, which he did surrounded by his family and loved ones. George will be greatly missed by his children Dave (Nancy) Wilson, Diane (Don) Beaty, his 7 grandchildren and 12+ great grandchildren.

A visitation for George will be held Friday, March 17, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl. 32207. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl. 32207.
