George was born to Norma Jean (Kirk) Barbour and George Leslie Barbour
George enlisted in the U.S. Navy in Raleigh, North Caroline in 1969. He married Mary Lou Feivor in June 1977. During George's career, he was stationed at several bases including Great Lakes IL, Norfolk VA, Pearl Harbor HI and Mayport FL. George retired July 16, 1998. George had a distinguished 32 years od service in the U.S. Navy where he achieved the prestigious rank of Command Master Chief. George was respected and honored by all that served with him.
George is survived by his souse Mary Lou Barbour, son Theodore Zdanowicz and daughter-in-law Jennifer, sister Sandy Barbour, niece Christy Cary and nephew James Brooks.
A Celebration of Life for George Barbour will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the American Legion #316, 1127 Atlantic Blvd., Atlantic Beach, Florida (904-249-0202) at 2:00 PM.
