Frances L. Simon, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2018 at her home in Jacksonville, Florida to be home with her Lord and Savior. Frances was born on January 21, 1934 in Birmingham, Alabama to Willie Lee and Hazel Vinson. She worked for and retired from St. Vincent's Medical Center, Riverside, with 39 years of dedicated service. Frances was also a dedicated 14 year employee of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Homes.
She was a member of Rise Baptist Church, formerly known Macedonia Baptist Church. During her spare time, she volunteered at her church, and always enjoyed her trips to New York City, especially during Christmas time. Frances loved her Lord, her family, and friends; she will be remembered as a lady of strong faith, caring spirit, and a giving heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin "Buddy" Simon in 2004. Frances is survived by her daughters Evelyn Smith (Frank) and Linda Davis (Larry); her son George "Randy" Simon; grandchildren Amber Holzschuher (Kyle), William Smith (Cyndee), and Autumn Allemand (Michael); her great-grandchildren Casey, Zack, Zandria, and J.J.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
