Eva Mae McCorkel Rewis, 67, of Jacksonville Florida went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Eva was born on August 29, 1947 in Lulu, Florida, and attended Cornerstone Pentecostal Church.
She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Clyde Rewis; and 4 brothers: William McCorkel, John (Bugg) McCorkel, Freddie McCorkel and Curtis McCorkel.
She is survived by her 3 children: Brenda Freeman (Robert), Clyde (Bubba) Rewis (Becky), and Wendy Kimbrell (Johnny); 5 grandchildren: Timmy Freeman (Jennifer), James Kimbrell, Taylor Freeman (Nadia), Kevin Kimbrell (Britny), and Jordan Rewis; 2 sisters: Esther Manning and Aline Jenkins; 3 brothers: Jimmy McCorkel, Wayne McCorkel, and Steve McCorkel (Janet); 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her beloved dog "Lady-Bug".
The family will receive friends at the Hardage Giddens Funeral Home located at 729 South Edgewood Avenue, Jacksonville FL 32205 on Sunday, September 21, in the afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will also be held at the Hardage Giddens Funeral Home on Monday, September 22, at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville FL 32205.
Eva will be remembered for her zest for life and love of dancing. Even though she will be missed by all who knew her, we take comfort in knowing that Heaven has gained an angel.
