Elliott “Charlie” Smith, Jr., 85, passed away October 3, 2011. He was born September 17, 1926 in Delray, Florida, and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all. He was a World War II veteran, a master electrician, and a past master of the Stafford Caldwell Lodge.
He was the son of the late Elliott C. and Charlotte Wallace Smith. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Dunn Smith; daughters, Faye “Polly” Norris (Barry) and Linda Enman (Brian); son, Elliott C. Smith III (Venus); 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sisters Barbara Ann Faulkenberry, Lucille Faulkenberry, and Winifred Hogan.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 7 at the Greenlawn Chapel, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral service to follow 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 8 at the Greenlawn Chapel & gravesite.
