Eddie George Jones Jr. (92) Passed Away on June 23, 2018. He was born on May 26, 1926 to Eddie Sr. and Lela Jones in Jacksonville, Florida.
Eddie attended Landon High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1943 at the age of 17. He was a paratrooper and volunteered to be a Glider Rider during World War II. Eddie met his wife of 72 years, Mary Louise at a dance while he was on a weekend pass. They were married in 1946 when Eddie came home from the war. They raised two sons. Eddie became a skilled Mason working his way up to superintendent. After raising their children, Eddie and Mary became avid RV’ers. Eddie was twice elected president of the Dubol Winnies. Any unauthorized chatter was quickly dealt with. Eddie was also an active member of the Shriners.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Mary Louise, his son Rick, four Grand-children and seven Great-Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Saturday June 30, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday at 11:00am on July 1, 2018 at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, RIVERSIDE MEMORIAL PARK and FUNERAL HOME, 7242 Normandy Boulevard is serving the family.
