Earl was a devoted family man and mentor to many. His wisdom and humor will be with many of us forever. He was the first NASCAR member from the Jacksonville area. He excelled with his early racing career and was blessed to even have been able to race on the beach at Daytona. Earl left racing to raise an amazing family. He built and enjoyed Dune Buggy’s and was a Ham operator enthusiast. He loved nature, enjoying the outdoors, camping, fishing, people watching, porch sitting and hammock sleeping.
After retirement he traveled across this beautiful country. He then returned to Vintage Racing and won his last feature race at age 86. His family paid him back for taking care of us by sharing our home and trips.
Grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids brought him the most joy, reading them books, watching them play, sing and giving Pee-Paw lots of love and kisses. His smile said it all. He always wanted to go-go-go.
A private funeral with Celebration of Life will be held by the family.
