Donald A. Garrett, 58, passed away on May 23, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL. Born August 1, 1953 in Palatka, FL, Donald served in the United States Army Reserves for 15 years. He worked for Sears Roebuck for fourteen years, in private security for a number of years and most recently in the towing industry as owner/operator of his own company for sixteen years. Donald was a true fan of the Florida Gators and Nascar Racing.
Donald is preceded in death by his daughter, Donna. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; grandson, Ronnie Hawkins, Jr.; brothers Winton (Melinda), Thomas (Kathy), Robert and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville,Florida 32207. Reverend Ernie Unholz of the St. Nicholas Park Christian Church officiating.
