Diana was a daughter, wife, mother and friend to all she met. She was a giving soul, raising six children while husband Jack served in the U.S. Army moving with him around the world to his various assignments finally retiring to Florida. After years of being a stay-at-home mom, she joined the workforce in Florida working for years at JC Penney’s Credit Dept in Cedar Hills Shopping Center. After the loss of her beloved husband Jack she became a world traveler and permanent volunteer. She was a long time member of St Matthews Catholic Church where she started a long standing “Rosary Group” opening her home every Monday to pray the Rosary with them. But the thing Diana loved most was her large extended family always visiting, cooking and hosting parties for them. And every holiday she always had an extra chair or two at the table for anyone who ‘needed a family to be with’. She was always a willing participant in anything her kids needed her help with … she was a master seamstress whipping up everything from a placemat to a wedding dress and everything in between. She always seemed to be painting, hammering or hanging something in her house, or one of the kid’s houses. She never could sit still. And even though she was raised in the mountains of Pennsylvania, the beach was her go to place. From wave jumping to long walks or just sitting and enjoying the view, she loved her beach trips.
Diana died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family after a long illness … she will be forever missed by her family but left them with many memories to forever enjoy.
Services will be at St. Matthews Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 14th at 11:00 am A reception will follow in the church’s social hall and interment at 3:00pm at Memorial Park on Normandy.
