Born October 2, 1967, in Boynton Beach, Florida. Derrick resided most of his life in Jacksonville. He was employed by Tricon Residential.
Derrick also worked at the University of North Florida from years 1998-2005 and at Beau Rivage Condominiums from years 2005-2021 as a maintenance supervisor. He attended Englewood Senior High School and later earned his GED.
Derrick enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, grey hound races and Nascar racing. However, his greatest passion was watching Football. He was a fierce and avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons, but especially those “Dawgs”!
During the late 90’s Derrick was also super passionate about the Atlanta Braves. He shared his passion with his only son Russell. From t-ball to his early teen years, Derrick was there purchasing all the gear and at every practice and every game played at Glynlea and San Souci parks. Taking his son to the batting cage and throwing the ball in the front yard will always be a treasured memory.
Survivors include his mother, Cheryl Millis Lynch (Scott) of Waynesville, GA; children Russell Davis and Jamie Holton (Mike), both of Jacksonville. His aunt Bonnie Rheborg (Ulf); St. Simons Island, Ga.; cousins Bjorn Rheborg (Karoline) Richmond, Va., and Erik Rheborg, along with other relatives and a host of friends.
He was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Van Russell Millis of Jacksonville.
Funeral Services will be held August 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Oak Lawn Chapel, San Jose Blvd in Jacksonville.
