David Lee Swisher Sr. 83 of Jacksonville passed away April 29, 2020 and joined his loved ones in heaven. David was born in Malvern Arkansas December 28, 1936 to Lawrence and Beulah Swisher. He married Evelyn Crawford April 22, 1960. They were married 47 years when Evelyn went to heaven to wait for David. His son David Jr. went ahead as well in 2019.
David served in the Navy as an aircraft mechanic which trained him to be a top notch machinist. He left the military and eventually retired from Metal Container Corp. He loved animals and children and always had dogs, cows, and horses. He is survived by 3 daughters Claudette Bergstrom (Joel), Claudia Merkey, and Sheila Sendling (Michael). 9 grandchildren Jacob, Ashley, Jill, Seth, Rocky, Nikki, Lina, Zeke, Lucy, and 4 great grandchildren. He is survived by one sister Linda Kirkpatrick and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association as David fought this for many years. Graveside services will be held on Saturday May 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park
