David Rickenbecker Sutton, Jr., 74, of Jacksonville, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Baptist Medical Center Downtown. David was born on August 3, 1936 in Jacksonville to the late David Rickenbecker Sutton & Ruth (Moore) Sutton. He worked as a Consulting Engineer, and was the Owner of Sutton Engineering Inc., and Sutton Contracting. David was a Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Downtown Rotary Club in Jacksonville, and a member of the Christian Family Chapel. He is survived by his son, David R. Sutton, Jr. MD, of Jacksonville; his daughter, Tamara Landry of Northport, Maine; his daughter, Dana Draughon of Alpharetta, Georgia; his 5 grandchildren, David Sutton III, Jacqueline Sutton, Jillian Draughon, Christina Draughon, and Juliette Landry; and his 2 sisters, Jeanne Day of Vidalia; and Larrie Bradford of Jacksonville. David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Josephine P. Sutton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 5th, at 2:00 pm at the Christian Family Chapel, 10365 Old St. Augustine Rd., Jacksonville. Interment will follow the Funeral Service at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville.
