Cindy, John, and Duke: prayers and hearts are with you. Wishing you love, light, and the peace that surpasses understanding.

Dale and I were at FSU together in the same sorority.  She was a leader then, and from what I've read, she remained a leader all her life.  I did not find out about her passing until I received my sorority news, and was very saddened to learn of her passing, but uplifted by the number of lives she touched and the testimonials of those she worked with.  Rest in peace, Dale.  I wish I had kept up with you.

I worked with Dale at Episcopal for 12 years. She was first my colleague in the English Department, and then my department chair. We were hired the same year, 1978, and many of my students went on to Dale's advanced classes. Of all the people I have ever met, Dale was the one I most admired in every way. Through watching her, I learned how a teacher can challenge students while offering them unconditional love. And, ironically, she was the most conscientiously fair administrator imaginable. Even though I left Episcopal in 1990 for a college faculty position, I have thought about Dale nearly every day. She was an inspriation to me as a teacher, as a friend, and as a leader. I hope that eventually we will be able to remember the gift of her life more clearly than the tragedy of her loss.

Thoughts and prayers continue for the family and friends of Ms. Regan during this difficult time.  She was a dear lady who did much for the community and education as a whole during her decades of service.  The community suffered an immense loss three weeks ago, but her legacy will remain with the school and the hearts she touched.  As someone who once attended Episcopal High School in Jacksonville as a student, I appreciate all that Ms. Regan did for everyone.  She lived her life's mission to the fullest and cared for all.  May God bring peace and comfort to her family amidst this time of sorrow.  And though she is missed, may we all celebrate the life of Ms. Regan in knowing how much she was cherished and loved.

To the Duke and Regan Families,

I am sure there are no words that can accurately express the pain and sadness you all must be going through. I did not know Ms. Regan personally, although I am sure I met her once or twice, as I worked with her Mom, Charlotte, nearly 40 years ago at Atlantic Bank. Charlotte was an amazing woman, so it stands to reason she would raise such an amazing daughter. At a time when our youth desperately needs strong role models, especially in the field of education, this was such a terrible loss. My heart goes out to the entire family in their time of grief. Our Lord has big shoulders and he can carry the weight of your sadness if you lean on Him. I will continue to lift all of you in my prayers.

Sorry for the loss of such a wonderful woman she's in heaven now rejoicing in the Lord! May God give you peace that she is better than ever.

My heart breaks for you and your family.  Your mother sounds like she was an extraordinary woman!  You are all in my thoughts daily.

From the Amelia Island Concours family, we are all saddened by your loss.  We've known John, Duke and their father for years as volunteers for Concours, and missed having them here this year.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I only knew Dale Regan for 2 years, of which I feel very blessed.  I witnessed  a devoted daughter who came to visit her parents on a routine basis and someone who was always gracious for the care they received.  She would always give me a hug and thank me for taking care of her folks.  I knew when she was nominated for the Eve award, no one deserved it more.  I know how much she loved her family, and am so very sorry for your loss.  She will always be remembered with a smile on my face for having the privilege of the short time I knew her.

I had the pleasure to work with Dale Regan at Episcopal for 13 years (1990-2003).  It was mentioned in the news that a former student said that “I bet one of the things you remember about Dale is the last hug she gave you”.  Well, this is so true!   I remember the last hug she gave me because I thought I could not breathe for the moment since she held so tight.  Dear John and Duke, I know she loved you both dearly and I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonder mother, teacher and leader of this community.  Hoping the legacy of love she left you will be a source of strength and comfort for you now.

Mr and Mrs Duke, Twinkle and Sons, I am so sorry to hear of Dales passing. From our Sundays at Central Christian Church, I remember Dale as a beautiful and sweet girl. Even then Dale was someone that everyone admired and looked up to and it no surpise that she is so loved and successful. Please know you have my sincere sympathy and prayers.

There is a Christian song that has been playing on the radio.  It talks about learning to be a light.  Dale Regan was a very bright light!  When we visited Episcopal a few years ago, we felt a warmth and that's why we chose it for our daughter.  I think that warmth was from the light that Dale carried around with her presence.  She not only shined her light, she also wanted the students to let their light shine.  I believe she's looking down from heaven and hoping the students will not only do their best in school, but the most important thing in life is to express God's love to others. I did not know this fine lady. I am an Episcopalian and a teacher and friend of independent schools. I feel akin to her and all of her loved ones. I am praying and will continue to pray for her eternal repose and for the comfort off all concerned.

As the associate director for FCIS, I was able to work closely with Dale in many accreditation capacities....she was a fine leader who made sure that the work would get done and we would all have fun among the way!  FCIS will greatly miss her leadership and wisdom; I am so grateful for the four years I had to learn from the best educator in independent education.

Dale's life was a great inspiration to so many people. I have been away from EHS for a few years now, but I have many wonderful memories of Dale.
God has lifted her up and taken away the pain.
We are grieving with the entire Episcopal Family.

Along with so many, I am heartbroken at the tragic and senseless loss of Dale. Her legacy will live on and she has impacted an untold number of lives over the years. She was my AP English teacher and cheerleading coach at Englewood High School in the 70's. I have so often spoken to my family about what a wonderful teacher, friend and person she was. Mr. & Mrs. Duke, Denise, John and Duke, please know your are in my heart, thoughts and prayers. I have seen so many posts from old friends and classmates and teachers from Englewood and I remember our time together with such affection and gratitude. May God comfort Dale's family and give them strength. What an amazing, gracious, kind and inspirational woman she was. And my prayers and sympathies also to the entire Episcopal School community.

As a parent of a current Episcopal student, I saw first hand the love and wisdom Dale Regan showered on her students. When I heard her speak at the various school events, her words were always up-lifting, powerful and spot-on. She touched so many lives and made a difference in things of importance - an accomplishment few can share. The light she brought to so many will never be extinguished. My husband knew Dale from Landon and Wolfson, and often told the story of how she tutored him in Shakespeare so he could get thru senior English!  He used to give her a ride to school. I met her when we were both in the Jr. Miss Pageant our Senior year.  She was special even then, and we hit it off because we were both going to FSU in the fall. We became reacquainted when she hired me as a substitute at Episcopal.  She was a lovely, brilliant, accomplished woman.  I never knew anyone who didn't respect her. My deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to all the members of Dale's family and to all those who knew her.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.  Dale's death was tragic and senseless and difficult to understand.  My parents were friends of Dale's parents, Allen and Charlotte, and I have fond memories of visiting with Dale and Twink when we would visit their home.  Dale was not only a childhood friend, but also a Delta Zeta sorority sister of mine at FSU.  Dale and I lost touch when she returned to Jacksonville and I remained in Tallahassee.  I never knew her sons but am sure they are fine men to have had such a wonderful mother.  Dale was a very vivacious and energetic person and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.  My love and sympathy to the family.

Dale was my AP English teacher my senior year at Englewood. I believe it was just the second year she taught (72-73), but she was already an amazing educator.  She believed in our ability and encouraged us in our dreams and was my favorite teacher. She is the reason that I pursued a career in journalism and communications. My two sisters had her as well and she coached one of my sisters in tennis. I am shocked by her sudden loss and know you are devastated. May your family take comfort in the great legacy that Dale leaves behind and know that she is safely resting in the arms of her Savior.

Duke:

Along with hundreds of others, my heart was so saddened to hear about the loss of your mother.  She was so special.  I remember when we were planning your surprise birthday party at the firm and she wanted to help.  She secretly managed to sneak us some baby pictures and other items that we could display to make your celebration even more special, at least to us. [I remember those photos - you weren't that impressed!]  The smile on her face was priceless when she delivered the "special" package of memories to us. The love and pride she had for you was unquestionable.  As I continue to read about her, I find that she shared herself with so many others.  What a wonderful lady.  My prayer for you and your family is that you will find tremendous comfort in knowing how much others loved her.  You know how special she was and now you know how much she meant to so many people. She loved completely and gave unselfishly and that is a legacy that any mother would be proud to leave for her children.  May her sweet spirit and loving character make each of us want to be a better person.  Duke, you are so loved and I pray that you will continue to take comfort from all of those around you who are willing to love you and share your loss at this most difficult time.  Let them be there for you....your mother would like knowing you are so loved, just as she was loved by so many.

May God shed His grace upon the Regan family and all those that knew her! Her tenure at the school is a testimony to her dedication to students of all ages.

I will still remember all of the times that I went 4-wheeling with Cynthia and Dale.  I was always very excited because I never had one for myself, but they were always nice and let me drive some.  Also she let me borrow her kayak at our lake in Tennessee.  Those memories will never leave me and you will always be missed.

Dale and I went to lunch together.  One time she ordered a big dessert 'cause that's what she wanted! We had delicious conversations about lessons in English, and I always wanted to be (secretly) in one of her classes. This week has shattered me, and am so sorry that Episcopal High School had to be the subject of one of these horrible scenes. May God keep the Regan and Duke family in His care.  I will think happily of Dale forever. And keep Episcopal High School in your deepest thoughts, too. Love,

We have so many fond memories of Dale at Campbell Cove Lake. She was so kind to always lend her kayak to Kyle and his friends. I remember her having so much fun at John's 50th birthday party. I always envied those strong mountain biking legs. The lake will not be the same without her! Our hearts are breaking for all of her family. She was so at home in the mountains and on the lake. We will miss her very much.

Teresa and I were so shocked and saddened to learn of the death of our good friend and colleague. We worked very closely with Dale at Episcopal and admired her inspirational spirit. I had the honor of working with Dale on several occasions as a member of an accreditation team. She was an amazing person. She was so kind and made everyone around her feel so welcome. My thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Regan's family, friends, colleagues, and students.  Although I didn't have the privilege of knowing  Ms. Regan, just hearing about the way she lived her life is an inspiration for me to learn from her example and strive to become a better person.

Dale was an outstanding Rotarian.  She always took the time to join the club in special projects like the Salvation Army Bell ringing and would also bring a friend from Episcopal.  She recently emailed me concerned about her attendance at Rotary but we both agreed that her focus was her work and family.  I assured her that we could accomodate her as she tended to some other short-term obligations.  She was conscientious about her membership and I appreciated that and this from a very busy person.  We will truly miss seeing her at our regular Monday meetings.

I first met Dale years ago when I pulled up to the school's front loop. A delivery truck had just knocked over a column that held a massive roof over the student waiting area, knocking it to the ground. First on the scene, she was crawling out from under it after looking for any potentially trapped students, ignoring the risk of it collapsing further. She introduced herself and thanked God that no one had been hurt. I knew then that she would go to any length to protect her school's students, and keep their welfare in every way foremost in all that she did. I am enriched by her valor. She lived the Word of our Lord: Mark 8:34-38.

Our deepest sympathy to the Regan and Duke families. This is a tragic loss to the Episcopal community.  She will be missed.

I never had her as a teacher, but I remember her as being a wonderful woman who was able to positively influence thousands of lives. Prayers to all her family, students and friends.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this very difficult time. While I only met Dale a handful of times during my time as your neighbor, she was always a joy.  She will be greatly missed.  She has joined Brian as an angel to watch over you.  All my love to you!

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family; may God richly bless you. You are in our thoughts and prayers. My son graduated from Episcopal last year, and Dale's influence on him was phenomenal. I worked closely with her through parent organizations and numerous volunteer opportunities. The impact she had on our family during the past five years will stay with us forever. She had a genuine heart for our students; and has inspired so many young people. Dale will be greatly missed!

Dale will be remembered by ALL that have been touched by her as a WONDERFUL, CARING human who lived her dreams. As the parents of a graduate and grandchildren attending Episcopal, we know Dale did everything to encourage and enable each student to become all that God intends them to be.  See will continue to be l an inspiration to us ALL.
