Connie Lee Simmons, 94, passed away May 3, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Clay County, Alabama on December 25, 1923. Connie married Rudolph Simmons on September 18, 1948, and together they moved to Florida.
Connie was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed gardening and attending to her beautiful roses. She enjoyed crafting and macramé. She also liked to paint, collect stamps, and spend time with her friends. Connie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Connie is survived by her son, Robert Lee Simmons (Sonya), and her grandchildren, Shellie Simmons Camp (Parks) and Leslie Simmons Bolante (Christian). She also leaves to cherish her memory her great grandchildren, Claire Camp and Ernie Bolante, and her brother, Johnny. Connie was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph Simmons, her brothers, James, and Tommy, and her sisters, Virginia and Marjorie.
A visitation will be held at 11:00am, followed by the funeral service at 12:00pm, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 and will be held at Greenlawn Chapel, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
