Conchita Pilar Cheuy, aged 57, passed away on July 16, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her husband, two sons, and grandson. Conchita was a devout Catholic and dedicated member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church for 31 years, who could always be found at Eucharistic adoration. She was a true Christian in every sense of the word, living her life with incredible humility and love for the Lord. A passionate believer in the power of prayer, she never hesitated to offer novenas or mass intentions for anyone. She had particular devotions to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Divine Mercy of Jesus. True to God’s love and mercy, she never failed to see the good in everyone.
Born in 1961 in New Jersey, she had an international upbringing from Spain to the US Virgin Islands, then finally settling in Charlottesville, Virginia in her early adulthood. After serendipitously finding love-at-first-sight in a classroom, she has been blissfully married for 37 years. Life took their family to Florida in 1986, where she lived until her passing. She was an avid traveler, sports fan, and reader. She truly valued her amazing community of friends, both near and far. Family meant everything to Conchita and she felt incredibly blessed to have two sons whom she absolutely adored. Her most exceptional quality was her unwavering, unconditional love and support towards her entire family.
Conchita is survived by her husband, Constantino; her sons, Daniel and Victor; her mother, Sonja; and siblings, Joseph and Gabriela.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens, the Oaklawn Chapel.
