Clifford Eugene Wright Jr.

Clifford Eugene Wright Jr. , age 51 years old, died peacefully holding the hand of his beloved wife Polly, after a courageous battle with cancer. Clifford was born December 31st 1970 in Lakeland, Florida to Mary McCarty and Clifford Wright Sr. In 2011, Clifford happily married Polly Wright who was his partner in life for almost 11 years at the time of his death.

From 1984 -1988, Clifford attended Mulberry High School in Polk County, Florida. In 1992, Clifford welcomed his first daughter, Brittany, and in 1994 his second daughter, Tiffany, was born.

Clifford worked for IMC Mosaic for 12 years until he obtained his Operating Engineer certificate in 2000. He started his career as an Operating Engineer with Florida Mechanical/W. W. Gay as an apprentice in 2002 and graduated the apprenticeship in 2006. He continued to work as a Operating Engineer until September 2021. He maintained his membership with The International Union of Operating Engineers #673 throughout his career.

In his spare time, Clifford enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, building Legos, and anything Star Wars. Clifford’s favorite football teams were The Florida Gators and The Saints. He deeply loved his family and rejoiced in the memories made with them. During his battle with cancer, Clifford accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. He learned to lean on God and know that when his body was done here, his soul would live on forever.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Polly; daughter Alannah (Ronnie); daughter Brittany (Keegan); daughter Tiffany; 4 grandchildren Marissa, Paisley, Ronald, and Colton; Aunt Jessie and Uncle Bill (Melissa); his mother Mary, sister, and brother; uncles James McCarty and Charlie McCarty.

A visitation for Clifford will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 12:00-1:00 PM at Haradge-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32205, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM.
