WILLIAMS. Mary 'Christine' Williams, age 95, of Jacksonville, FL, died peacefully, March 27, 2024. She was born on November 5th, 1928 in Palatka, Florida to Raymond Cay and Nora Magnolia Fraser Higginbotham. She attended Palatka High School, and graduated from University of Florida in 1951. She was a member of Tri Delta Sorority and remained an active member through the years. Christine is a 6th generation Floridian and she lived life to the fullest. She sponsored Clan Fraser at the Scottish Highland Games in Florida and Georgia for many years and is a life member of Clan Fraser. She belonged to the Scottish Highland Dancers and enjoyed traveling to Scotland. Christine was active in the Empire Point Garden Circle and Empire Point Stock Club. She researched, documented and shared the family genealogy for many years. Along with her family, she enjoyed boating, football (especially the U. F. Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars) and their second home in Hiawassee, Ga. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Cay and Nora Magnolia Fraser Higginbotham, and her husband J Norman Williams. She is survived by her two children, son James (Jim) Norman Williams, Jr. (wife Barbara) and daughter Nancy Williams Sprague (husband Scott), sister-in-law Peggy Williams, her step-grandchildren Charlie Minor (wife Laura M Minor), Laura Louise Minor and Stephanie Klein, three step-great-grandchildren William Minor, John Charles Minor and Robert Minor, and many nieces and nephews. Our deepest gratitude to her caretakers of many years, Rosa Trice, Debbie Price and Richard Bendetti. Thanks to the love, kindness and care of the staff at Community Hospice along with our friend Mary McElroy with Community Hospice. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 5th ,2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the Southside Methodist Church, 3120 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southside Methodist Church or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257.
