Charles E. Davis

Mr. Davis age, 86, a retired small business owner, passed away on August 6th in Bunnell, FL. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on July 25, 1929, the son of Robert William and Erma Hartley Davis. He graduated from Landon Jr-Sr High School in Jacksonville in 1948. During the Korean War he served in Korea from 11-1951 thru 11-1952 attaining the rank of Sgt. First Class in the 3rd Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Regiment. He later became a small business owner in Jacksonville and upon retirement moved to Bunnell, FL.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Korona, FL. and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Arlington Council #4727, Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife Mabel Jean Davis, son, Maj. Forrest Lamar Davis U.S Army Ret. and his wife Grace, their children Steven, Timothy, James and Anna. Son, Lt Col. Charles E. Davis, Jr. his wife Alice and their children Nicholas, Joshua, Max, Rachael and Lily. Sister, Vivian Elizabeth Andres and her husband John of Seymour TX., and sister Jeanette Rose Tooke and her husband Milton of Jacksonville, FL.

Services will be private

Family requests donations in Mr. Davis’s honor be made to Vitas Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.
