Carol D Perry

Carol Dow Perry passed away on 4-20-2012. Carol was born in Jacksonville, Fl. on 8-28-1923 and was a lifelong resident. Her parents were Louise Haile Dow and Robert N. Dow Sr. and her family has had roots in Northeast Florida since before the Civil War. Carol graduated from Landon High School and worked at Peninsular Life Insurance Company before marrying J P Perry Jr. in 1951. She later worked in the family insurance business founded by her husband in 1954. Carol had a great love of history and antiques and owned Carol Perry Antiques on the Southside for a number of years. Carol enjoyed traveling to new places and got to see much of the world with her husband and family on many trips and cruises. She grew up attending Springfield Presbyterian Church and was later a member of Lakewood Presbyterian Church. Carol is survived by her husband of 61 years, J P Perry Jr. and her son Joseph P Perry III, Daughter in law, Janet, Granddaughters Kate Perry and Morgan Perry and Niece, Lauren Dow. She is predeceased by her parents and her Brother, Robert N. Dow Jr. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions to Mandarin Presbyterian Church. HARDAGE-GIDDENS OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Blvd is serving the family.
