Betty was born on October 9, 1954 in Burney, MO to her loving parents Wanda Lee Williamson and Hayward Williamson Sr.
Betty graduated from South High School in Akron, OH and joined the United States Navy in 1977. She served her country for 24 years and retired in 2001.
After retiring, Betty worked for the Florida Department of Health in Duval County as a senior clerk.
Betty known by her family as “Betty Ann” has always had a relationship with God but renewed her passion for Him when she joined Central Baptist Institutional Church. She was a dedicated member of the Central Inspirational Singers where she eagerly sang with the choir. Betty was also a member of the “Women of Worship” (WOW) and Special Events Ministries. Betty’s commitment to the church and ministries was admired by all.
After several treatments of chemotherapy and massive brain radiation, she always found the strength to make it to the house of God.
Betty is survived by her only child Brandi Williamson who has cherished their relationship for the past 32 years. She is also survived by her mother Wanda Lee Williamson, father Hayward Williamson Sr, her siblings, Delores Ray, Hayward Williamson Jr., Sharon Coleman, James Williamson (Sylvia), Donald Williamson (Patricia), Patricia Ward (Kenneth), Samuel Williamson (Sheila), Oscar Williamson (Renee), Terri Golden (Anthony), and a host of very loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Special acknowledgement to nieces Patrice Jones and Shanika Williamson.
