Betty Sue Sapp (90), a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 8th. A woman of exceptional health, intellect, and beauty, Betty was called to the Lord suddenly from natural causes.
Betty was born on February 15, 1930. She lived in the Brentwood Projects and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. On June 19, 1949, she married Earl Keith Sapp, with whom she shared 69 years of love and joy. Betty became a fulltime loving wife and mother, a fulltime bookkeeper in the family business, and a fulltime and lifelong friend to all she met. If Betty met you, ever, she remembered your name and birthday. Betty enjoyed traveling with Earl and keeping her daily journal. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying baseball, football, basketball, NASCAR racing, and bowling. Betty was a longtime member of the Lake Shore United Methodist Church. She cherished Bible studies, often preparing and delivering weekly lessons to her beloved Joy Class.
Betty was preceded in death by her father (Howard Wellman), mother (Carrie Mai Willis - Wellman), brother (Percy Smith), and grandson (Evan Sapp).
She leaves her children: Michael Sapp, Stephen Sapp (Lisa Enloe), and Elaine Adams (Steven Adams), her grandchildren: Carrie Carangue (Clark Caranque), Megan Sapp, Scott Adams (Carrie Adams), Stephanie Enloe (Brian Doscher), and Natalie Enloe (Caleb Fortune), and her great grandchildren: Gavin Sapp, Hailey Adams, Carter Carangue, and an expected great granddaughter with Natalie and Caleb.
A visitation will be held, Friday February, 12th from 5-7pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
