Betty Lou Manning

Betty was born on June 11, 1928 in Danleyton, Kentucky, to James Edward and Fanny Hensley. She had many happy years living in Flatwoods, Kentucky, with her husband James Manning and their four children. She was known as a devoted Christian, caring wife and mother, an avid gardener and a fantastic cook. When she moved to Florida in 1999 she enjoyed time with her family, friends and the beautiful sunshine. She was also an active member of the Fruit Cove Baptist Church when her health allowed.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, husband, daughter, Connie Hilburn, and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Ragan and Betty Ohlmeyer.

She is survived by her sister, Doris (Talmadge) Porter; her children - Lois (Paul) Fluty, Jim (Anita) Manning and Rita (Tom) Williams; her grandchildren - Mark (Eddy Jo) Hilburn, Kristina (Joel) Richins, Jessica (Joseph) Archuleta, Nicholas (Amber) Fluty, Jared Manning, Eric Manning and Amanda Williams; and great granddaughters - Candace Archuleta and Clara Fluty.

A memorial service will be held in Flatwoods, Kentucky in early August. Contributions in memory of Betty may be made to Sunrise Children’s Services, 300 Hope Street, PO Box 1429, Mt. Washington, KY 40047. www.sunrise.org
