Betty Jane (McGuire) Hahn

Betty Jane (McGuire) Hahn passed away on September 16, 2021, at the age of 84. She was born in Smyth County, Virginia on December 22, 1936. She was the daughter of Earl Leonard McGuire and Virginia Ruth McGuire. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Kenneth Hahn, her parents, son Robert Alan Hahn and son-in-law Steve Sockwell. She is survived by her brothers, William McGuire and Keneth McGuire (Mary), her children, Patricia Pickering (Mike), Gail Papa (Roy), Jennifer Sockwell and Reverend Harvey Hahn (Kathy); grandchildren, Becky (Mike), Rachael (Bobby), Jessica, Elizabeth, Kristen (Seth), Adam (Melissa), Kevin, Bryan, Amanda (Caleb), Brittany (Mark), Chad and great grand-children: Dustin (Kelli), Alexis, Micah, Dakota, Christopher (Hannah), Kayten, Jackson, Caroline, Brooke, Lily, Jason, Megan, Katelyn, Andrew, Olivia and great-great grandchildren Hayes, Landon, Brandon, Donovan and Oakley.

Betty was a dedicated Mother, loving wife and an amazing Grandma. She was the valedictorian and always gave sage advice to her children and grandchildren. She was a mentor to all, sharing her wisdom and wit. She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, calligraphy, flower arranging, working in her yard, traveling to the mountains and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering at Glendale Community Church in their outreach program and thrift store.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Glendale Community Church, 6411 Beach Blvd. with Reverend Harvey Hahn officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, September 20, 2021 at Corey-Kerlin Chapel, 940 Cesery Blvd.

Flowers will be accepted at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home on Cesery Blvd. or memorial contributions may be made to Glendale Community Church.
