Bert Wynn

Bert Wynn, born September 26, 1924, in Jennings, Florida (Hamilton County) Florida and passed away on October 8, 2024, in Community Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida. Dad lived to see and enjoy his 100th birthday.

Bert Wynn retired from Simmons Bedding Company in 1982 and worked part time for various other companies including Coggin Auto Dealer driving cars, Jones College as a security guard and maintenance, and Kuhn Florist as maintenance man and deliverer. He was a faithful member to his church, Southpoint Baptist Church, and multiple years earned longest living father on Father’s Day.

Bert Wynn is predeceased by his son, James Wynn, mother, Bessie Snipes, stepfather Alfred Snipes, brother, JL Wynn, sister Lona Buchanan, half- sister, Rose Jenkins, and half- brother, Clarence Snipes.

Bert Wynn is survived by his wife Joyce Wynn married 69 years, daughters Susan Jackson (Barry), and Robin Axtell. Grandchildren Eric & Jeremy Jackson, PJ Axtell, Michelle Rogers as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Bert will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
