Barry Clifford Dacks, born on March 7, 1946, passed to his eternal rest on February 29, 2012. Barry is deeply mourned by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Linda, his sons, Jayson (Brenna) and Greg, and the light of his life, his grandson, Jack. Other mourners include Barry’s mother, Phyllis Dacks (and the late Murray Dacks), his brothers, Kenny (Jane) and Brian (Valerie), Linda’s mother, Pearl Mack, several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends who became extended family.
Barry Dacks graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School in Miami, the University of Miami where he received Bachelor of Science Degrees in Industrial Engineering and Computer Science, and from the Krannert School of Business Management at Purdue University with a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Administration. He was a successful business owner of Timesharing Services, Inc., owner and president of Dallastone Systems Solutions, Inc., and Director of Purchasing at Martin J. Gottlieb and Associates. Over the years, Barry served as an active member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center, JJC Men’s Club, the National Data Processing Management Association and the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Barry’s interests were many and very diverse. Above all, was his love for family, friends, and his life, in general. He was always open to new adventures and took great pleasure in exposing everyone to new experiences.
The funeral service will be on Friday, March 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the New Cemetery of the Jacksonville Jewish Center at Evergreen Cemetery off of 43rd Street and Liberty Street. The family has asked that those who wish to commemorate Barry Dacks do so by sending donations to either the Jacksonville Jewish Center, River Garden Hebrew Home for the Aged, or the American Heart Association.
