Dr. Barbara Ann Haralson Upton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 16, 2014. She was born in Savannah, GA on March 21, 1934 to Ernest and Ora Haralson. She held degrees as a Registered Nurse from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans along with Masters and Doctoral degrees in Christian Education from Luther Rice Seminary. As the wife of Rev. Dr. Wayne W. Upton, her ministry was to teach and counsel countless people to know the Lord and to be their better selves. She was the author of the book, LEVELS OF SPIRITUAL MATURITY. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years. She is survived by daughter, Loree Upton, of Jacksonville; son, Carey W. Upton and his wife, Adele Cabot; sisters, Dorothy Dobbs and Sharon Eline and brother, Donald Haralson. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 10:00-11:00am in the chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am following the visitation at the Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home at 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
