There are many beautiful things in life that are truly beyond description, such as the softness of a baby’s skin, the stars in the heavens, the blue of the sky, the reds of a sunset, and our beloved Ashley.
From the moment we learned of her passing, Ashley’s life has flooded before us. Always smiling, always bubbly, this young woman brought joy to everyone. Our hearts are heavy; our grief is intense.
Ashley graduated from Frank H. Petersen Academies of Technology. She was an accomplished student at the University of North Florida. UNF will posthumously present Ashley’s family her Bachelor of Arts degree, where she majored in Anthropology, with a minor in English. She was looking forward to continuing her studies in a Master’s program, and eventually teaching at a university. Ashley has worked for Florida Blue since 2003, most recently as Appeals and Disputes Associate. She enjoyed spending time with co-workers and friends and being involved in community and team activities engaged by the company.
Ashley is survived by her fiancé, Rob Harper, her parents Earl and Carol Turner, her brother, Trey Turner and her paternal grandparents, Wilbert and Eva Nell Turner. She leaves behind aunts and uncles, cousins and friends, who adore her and will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Johnnie Fowler Nuber and William Fowler and her uncle Randy Fowler.
The outpour of love and prayers has been overwhelming. Ashley’s fiancé, Rob, her parents and brother, Earl, Carol, and Trey thank everyone for the support and prayers offered during this very difficult time.
Our beautiful Ashley, our “baby girl”, who gave so much, leaves behind a legacy of happiness, memories, encouragement and strength. She made a difference in this life and the imprint she leaves behind will live on forever in the lives of those who knew her. It brings her family much comfort to know that she was loved by so many. Her death, at such a young age, brings a sadness for which words cannot express. We cannot imagine a future without her smile, without her laughter, without her touch that brings us so much happiness.
Knowing Ashley the way we do, we believe she leaves behind this message for us all
Do not stand at my grave and weep for I am not there.
Think of me when the wind blows, when you see the glint of the stars,
and smell the gentle autumn rains.
When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the quiet in your heart.
I am the stillness in your night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I am living in your hearts.
We will miss you forever baby girl,
Your Loving Family
