He lived in Jacksonville since childhood, and went on to work for the City of Jacksonville, retiring with 20 years of public service. Tony continued his career in the private sector working in surveying and wearing many hats. He attained his professional surveyor and mapper license in 1997, and served in that role until his death.
The church was central to Tony’s life, especially as it’s where he met Dee Hartman. They fell in love and married, raising their three children while remaining in Jacksonville.
Tony is preceded in death by his wife Dee O’Neil, daughter Leah O’Neil and father Edward B. O’Neil . He is survived by his loving son Benjamin O’Neil (Melissa), daughter Anna O’Neil Galang (Michael) and grandchildren Zachary O’Neil, Jesse O’Neil, and Gabrielle Galang; his mother Kathleen Schwedler Floor, and his siblings Edward Bruce O’Neil (Kathy), Chris O’Neil, Teresa McDonald (Larry) and Diane Conner (Farrell).
A graveside service for Tony will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 10:00 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
