She was preceded by her parents, Arthur and Rosie McCormick; brothers, Rudolph (Iwo Jima WWII) and Carl; her husband of 60 years, Max, and her eldest son, Max Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Terry (Joan) and Carl; daughter-in-law, Karen (Max Jr.); grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan, David, Michael, Daniel, Janelle, Jeremiah, Jason, Jaymie and a slew of great-grandchildren.
Anna grew up and graduated High School in Guthrie, KY. She won a number of local dance contests before WWII began and loved to do the Jitterbug and the Charleston. She met her husband Max working in the PX at Fort Campbell, KY and they were married 3 weeks later. She was a devoted wife and loving mother who lived for her children. She worked until she was 75 years old, first as a waitress then as a clerk in the drug departments of Grand Union Food Stores and Walgreens. After the death of her husband she moved to the Jacksonville area where she made many new friends. Anna was the type of person that if you spoke to her for five minutes you were her new best friend. She was active in the seniors group at Switzerland Community Church and loved going on the various outings with so many of her friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31 from 6-8 p.m. in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 1 at 11 a.m. in Switzerland Community Church, 2179 State Rd 13, St. Johns, FL 32259. Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073.
