She was born on August 14, 1937, in Jacksonville, Florida to Thomas Felder Miller and Louise Lavinia Hobirk Miller.
In May of 1954, at age sixteen, she married Robert Amos Lundin, Sr. Their son, Robert, Jr., was born a year and a half later. Their daughter, Darlyn, or Dee Dee, followed in 1959. Anita was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker who enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, and who acted as a homeroom mother for her children throughout their elementary school years, before taking a job selling jewelry at JC Penney’s when her youngest became a teenager.
Robert, Sr. died in early 1977. By this time, Anita worked at Genuine Parts Company, and in late 1978 she married Jack Cunningham, the head accountant there. This added three stepsons to the family: John, George, and Philip; as well as their wives Judy, Mary Beth, and Carol. Jack and Anita traveled in the Southeastern United States and enjoyed attending country music concerts and dancing together.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darlyn and Brad Kuhn; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law George and Mary Beth Cunningham; and Judy Cunningham, (all of Jacksonville) and Phillip and Carol Cunningham (of Campbellford, Ontario, Canada).
Her surviving siblings, siblings-in-law and stepsiblings include Jerry and Lydia Miller, Charlie and Shelby Mills (all of Tampa), June Ford (of St. Augustine), and Barbara Casey and Martha Watson (both of Jacksonville). Surviving cousin and cousin-in-law Pat and John Wheeler also live in Jacksonville. These beloved relatives blessed Anita with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who brightened her life.
Surviving grand and step-grandchildren are Rachel Finch-Bates, Railan Finch-Bates, Meschelle Kuhn, Jocelyn Cunningham, George J. Cunningham, Steven Procter Peterborough, Ray Crocker, Krista Breeding, and Kara Jones.
Her great grandchildren are Taylor Bowles, Tyler Cunningham, Brandon Cunningham, Noah Breeding, Abigail Ott, Teagion Jones, and Robert Jones.
She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Robert Amos Lundin, Jr.; her step-grandsons Phillip Spencer Cunningham, Jr., and John M. Cunningham IV; her brother, Tommy Miller, and her stepsister, Betty Galerno.
Anita was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, and attended faithfully as long as her health allowed.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm - 1:00pm on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 9714 Ridge Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32208. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Interment will take place at 3:00pm on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
