Angela was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 16, 1930. When she was a toddler they moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she lived most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Dean T. Roberts, her parents Green Berry Faircloth, Lorene Locker Faircloth, and her only brother Ronald Faircloth.
Angela grew up in Murray Hill and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, class of 1948. In High School she was a member of the TNT Sorority. After High School, she attended Florida State University where she met the love of her life, Dean Trefzer Roberts. They loved dancing to Big band music, football games, and the FSU circus. Angela earned her BS degree in Business in 1951. She and Dean were married in February 1952.
Dean and Angela moved to Rocky Mount, North Carolina and began their family. Three children were born while they lived in NC for 12 years. She was a full-time homemaker and a part-time sales representative for World Book Encyclopedia, Fuller Brush Co., and a Cutlery Co. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and The Rocky Mount Women’s Club.
In 1965, the family moved back to Jacksonville to be near their mothers. Angela got a job with Duval County Public Schools teaching Business courses. She taught Typing, Shorthand, Bookkeeping, Business Math, and Business English. In 1969 they were blessed with their 4th child. She was a substitute teacher for many years. Her last full-time teaching assignment was at William Raines High School, and she retired in 1992.
She loved her Savior Christ Jesus, and she loved her family. Angela was a member of First Baptist Church Jacksonville for 56 years. She taught Sunday School for 5th grade girls for 40 years. Her favorite activities included reading, journaling, scrapbooking, world travels, Cruises, Elderhostel trips, time at the lake and beach, painting, sketching, calligraphy, watching her grandchildren play sports, musicals, playing piano, camping trips, plants, flower arranging, pulling vines, harvesting fruit from her satsuma, kumquat, fig, & pear trees, & blueberry bushes, playing board games, cards, sudoku, crosswords, & puzzles.
Angela is survived by her 4 children: Deanne Roberts Gordon, Rhonda Roberts Shields, Barry Lester Roberts and wife (Kim Bronson Roberts), and Brenda Roberts Kato, 6 grandchildren: Robert J. Shields, Steven B. Shields & wife (Jennifer Shields), Sarah L. Gordon, Lee B. Roberts, Madeleine R. Parker & husband (Andrew Parker), Will D. Roberts, and 5 great-grandchildren: Baleigh R. Shields, Peyton L. Shields, Tatum C. Shields, Owen H. Parker, and Ty B. Parker.

A visitation for Angela will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
