Thelma Alice Miles Gilmore (Alice), 93, died peacefully at Community Hospice Bailey Center for Caring in Saint Augustine, Florida on October 22, 2020. Born on August 12, 1927 in Savannah, Georgia to Calvin and Thelma Miles, Alice would go on to graduate from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Florida. She retired from Atlantic Coastline Railroad and Fort Caroline United Methodist Church (Formally known as Gilmore Methodist Church).
Alice is predeceased by her parents, husband Lewis (Babe) Gilmore, and her brother Calvin Miles Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Derry Lu Boyd; three grandchildren; Lauren Hackney (DC), Lisa Harmon (Steve) and Robbie Boyd, two great-grandchildren; Kinley Chance and Dawson Hackney.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00am at Fort Caroline United Methodist Church, 8510 Fort Caroline Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32277.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fort Caroline United Methodist Church or Community Hospice.
