Rose Keyes, 80, of Atlantic Beach, FL, passed away October 12, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Rose was well-known in the Beaches community for her countless hours of volunteering locally and away from home.
She travelled with the Red Cross & Salvation Army volunteer missions to places such as, 2010 Haiti earthquake relief efforts, Hurricanes Katrina & Rita relief in Louisiana & Texas, Hurricane Wilma relief efforts in Key West, Joplin, Missouri tornado recovery efforts, North Dakota flood relief and Super Storm Sandy relief efforts. Local Volunteer Positions include, Jax Beach Honor Guard, Formed Jax Beach Police Department Citizens on Patrol, Served 25 years as Marshall for TPC Hole 17, 2 years as volunteer for Furyk & Friends Charity Tournament, Super Bowl XXXIX Volunteer Committee Captain, Volunteer for VFW Post 3270 & American Legion Post 316, and 13-year volunteer for Shepherd's Inn homeless & rehabilitation center.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, William & Sophie Zemla and siblings Richard, William, James, Robert.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Scott Greene II; children, Martin Briggs (Sue Wright), Troy Briggs, and Michelle Bolstridge (Dan); 6 Grandchildren, William, Austin, Erin, Ashleigh, Aidan, and Abby; 2 Great-grandchildren: Elyjah and Dawson; and sister, Dorothy Law (Jim); and many friends.
A Celebration of Rose's Life will be held at her home, 316 B 8th Street, Atlantic Beach, FL, on Saturday, October 22 from 11am until 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rose's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
