On the afternoon of March 19, 2011, with family holding both hands, Ronny Jo Villarreal peacefully joined God's legion of angels. Born July 3, 1976, in Sinton, TX, Ronny grew up in Odem, TX, graduating from Odem High School in June of 1994. Following study at the University of Texas San Antonio, she graduated with a Bachelor's of Business Administration from the University of Texas El Paso in 2001. She was part of both UTSA and UTEP's cheerleading squads, earning the honor of Captain during her Senior year at UTEP. Following graduation, Ronny succeeded in the corporate world, working for JP Morgan Chase in New York, NY and San Antonio, TX; Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL) in Boston, MA; Staples, Inc. Headquarters in Framingham, MA; and finally Citizens Property Insurance Corporation in Jacksonville, FL. Ronny, an amazing photographer, earned her Professional Photographer's Certificate from the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University in December 2007.
First diagnosed with breast cancer in April, 2004 and again in December, 2007, Ronny was amazingly strong, fought harder than could ever be imagined, and earned each moment of happiness in her life. She was an unbelievable inspiration to all those who knew her and will never be forgotten.
Ronny is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ricardo C. Villarreal of Odem, TX; her sister Molly Ortiz; brothers Israel, Eric, Robert, Daniel, Joe, Juan, Jorge, Willie, Ricky, Eric, and Henry; Uncles Ronny, Juan Jose, and Abraham; Aunts Elva, Lisa; Brother-in-law Jesse Ortiz; nephews Joshua, Justin, Lorenzo; nieces Marissa and Cecilia; Loving husband Andrew Hunt and daughter Madaleine. In heaven, she will join her Grandfathers Abraham and Catarino; grandmothers Magdalena and Cristela, and Uncles Joe & Sonny.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made in her name to Stand Up 2 Cancer (www.standup2cancer.com). Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach, FL.
