Judy Leone, 83, passed away on December 6, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on August 22, 1940 in Westchester, TN, Judy moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL as a young girl. She was known for her beautiful red hair, strong personality and her unwavering commitment to standing up for what she believed in. Judy was a business-savvy individual who excelled in various endeavors throughout her life.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a loving and amazing mother to her children, Ann Marie Neufelder, Karen Pierson, Terry Arculus, Salvatore Leone, and George Leone. She cherished her role as a mother and embraced every moment with her family. Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, George Leone, who was her partner in life. In addition to her children, she is also survived by her three sons-in-law (Tom, Richard and Dale), two daughters-in-law (Michelle and Irena), nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Judy had a close bond with her sisters, Carolyn Shields, Patricia Spies, Linda Ogburn, and her brother Michael Keese.
Judy attended Central Catholic High School in Fort Lauderdale. After completing her education, she had a successful career as accountant for George Leone Farms in Swedesboro, NJ. Judy's dedication and expertise were invaluable to the success of the business.
A woman of faith, Judy worshipped at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra, FL. Her strong belief in Christ was a guiding force in her life and provided her with solace and strength.
In her free time, Judy pursued various hobbies. She had a passion for painting, ceramics, pottery, doll making, and skiing. Judy's creativity and talent shone through her artwork and craftmanship.
Services honoring Judy's life will be held at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra, FL on Saturday, December 16th at 11 AM. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Judy can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude's held a special place in Judy's heart, and she would be honored to support their mission.
Judy's legacy will live on through the memories shared by her loved ones. She will be remembered as an independent and strong woman who loved unconditionally and dedicated herself to her family and community. Her kindness, determination, and unwavering faith will be forever cherished. May she rest in peace.
