He is survived by wife, Alma Santa Cruz Willis; daughters, Shawn Schaefer, Carmel VanHeusen, Lea Willis; grandchildren, Carma Lytle, Wesley Schaefer, Charles Schaefer; great-grandchildren, CyLee VanHeusen, Jeffrey Lytle; great-great-granddaughter, Cali Mae; former wife, Betty Willis.
After high school, he served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. Following military service, Frenchy was a barber in the Jacksonville Regency area until his employment with the Jacksonville Property Appraiser's Office where he served until retirement.
Jerry and his wife, Alma, were known to light up the dance floor in local American Legions, VFWs and anywhere else they could find a good country band for over 18 years.
