2012. JP was born in Venice CA to the late Phillip and Ethelyn Feigenbaum.
He joined the US Army Infantry and served in the Pacific Theater
during World War II where he received a battlefield commission. He left the
Infantry to join the newly formed US Air Force. The Air Force sent
him to the University of Southern California where he earned a Masters
Degree and won an NCAA tennis championship. He went on to serve in Korean
and Vietnam where he picked up Purple Heart medals and All Service tennis
championships along the way. He coached his lifelong friend Poncho
Gonzales to a Wimbledon Championship in 1949. He married Yolande (Yolie)
Hargraves Wells in 1959 and they traveled the world. Surviving him are his
three sons, Gil Wells (wife Lestine) of Jacksonville Beach, Shawn Feigenbaum
(wife Liliana) of Fayetteville, Ga. and Jon (Paige) Feigenbaum (wife May) of
Jacksonville; six grandchildren: Clint Wells and Jessica Wells (Farb);
Christopher and Kayla Feigenbaum; Sarah and Jenna Feigenbaum. JP wished to
rejoin with Yolie by having his ashes scattered offshore near Atlantic
