Harold E. Dickinson, age 89, passed away on November 14, 2018. He was born on August 3, 1929 in N. Tonawanda, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mildred Dickinson, brother, Robert Dickinson and sister, Jean Dickinson Holler.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joy Harnisch Dickinson; children Jeffery Dickinson, Laura Dickinson Dennis (Bobby), Joan Dickinson, and Jim Dickinson; seven grandchildren: Erin Ness Hummel, Lisa Dennis McLatchey (Mike), Erin Dennis Longden (Joe), Chase Brown, Hannah, Madison, & Caitlin Dickinson, and three great-grandchildren: Bella & Emi Hummel, and Luke McLatchey.
Harold was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and Erie County Technical Institute.
Harold served in the Armed Forces and was a proud Korean War Veteran. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 37 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Beaches Chapel Church and was an active member of the Senior Saints.
Harold will always be remembered for his loving, kind, and generous spirit. His compassion and concern for others was evident in his daily life. He never failed to offer a helping hand or words of advice and encouragement to anyone in need. He was devoted to his family and always made them his number one priority. He was an amazing husband and father and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. at Beaches Chapel Church, 610 Florida Blvd., Neptune Beach with Pastor Howard McMinn officiating.
