Doris Murray was the daughter of Charlie and Roberta Bennett. She was born on April 26, 1936 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was the youngest in a family of 11 children. She attended public school and high school in Hinds County. At a young age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and attended church throughout her life. Her lifetime of church service included bible study teacher, choir member, and numerous committees. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the roses she loved and once grew in her back yard. Her joy and spirit of dance will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Her desire to love, hug, and plant sweet kisses on family and friends will be missed, they were special.
She quietly departed from this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the age of 82 in Jacksonvillle, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Murray.
Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Regina and Veronica, their children, and her great-grandchildren. Doris Murray is also survived by one sister, Lee Levy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Going Home Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 with visitation one hour before service at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. Committal Service at noon in H. Warren Smith Cemetery, Jacksonville Beach.
