Robert Kent "Buddy" Weir

Buddy was born to Mini Mae and Bob Taylor Weir on September 23, 1929 in Jackson, TN. He was a fierce advocate for his hometown and an active ad dedicated member of Malesus United Methodist Church.

He was a graduate of Jackson High and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in the Korean War, receiving Naval commendations.

While stationed at Crane Naval Base in Indiana, he met the love of his life and Mother to his four daughters, Patricia Ann, in 1951. They established their home in Malesus where Buddy grew up and became champions for South Jackson. They deeply cherished their community and endlessly invested their time, gifts and talents in it.

Buddy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Weir; his daughters: Anna Marie Harris and Lisa Weir; and granddaughter Chelsea Harris.

He is survived by 2 daughers, JB Simmons and Lori Weir; 3 grandchildren: Whitney Todd (John), Ryan Simmons, and Tyler Simmons (Samantha); 4 great grandchildren: Anna Marie Todd; Rubye Todd; Finlee Simmons and Tripp Simmons.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Malesus Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 with the service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Malesus United Methodist Church or an organization you support.
