Glenda began her professional journey as a cosmetologist, serving clients in Jackson and Humboldt, where she brightened the lives of many with her talent and warm demeanor. Later, she worked as a server at Piccadilly and Morrison’s, where her kindness and work ethic left lasting impressions.
Her greatest passion, however, was her love for animals. For decades, Glenda ran her own animal rescue, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to providing care and shelter to countless creatures in need. Her advocacy and selflessness touched the lives of many, both two- and four-legged.
A devout Christian, Glenda found solace in her faith and the companionship of her Helping Hands community in her later years. There, she forged meaningful friendships and continued her mission of service and kindness.
Glenda is survived by her caregiver and dear friend, Gloria Berard (Corey), and a host of cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mary Elizabeth Whitworth Gantt, father, Roy George Gant, and her brothers, Larry, and Jerry Gantt.
A service to celebrate the life of Mary Glenda Gantt will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
