Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Paul Clayton officiating. A private committal service will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on November 29, 1917 to the late Stewart Samuel and Ethel Parks Glenn. Marjorie raised her family in Houston, Texas. She was a homemaker and extremely active in the community and her church as the Pre-School Director, church leader, and a member of the United Methodist Women. Marjorie moved to Jackson, Tennessee in 1998 to be near her daughter, Pam Jaco. Once here, she became very involved in the Jackson community and was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a caring member of the community, always reaching out to anyone who needed help.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Alexander, and her brother, Stewart Parks Glenn.
She is survived by daughter, Pam Jaco (Les) of Jackson, and daughter Linda Bove, (Edward) of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Four grandchildren: Susan Bove (Jo Ann Dumin), Chris Bove (Megan Humphrey), Mary Jaco Hopkins (Jim), and Margaret Jaco Manecke (Dominic). Marjorie also has five great-grandchildren, Isabelle Bove-Dumin, Colin Bove, Ryan Bove, Sarah Margaret Hopkins, and James Hopkins. She is also survived by her nephew, Stewart P. Glenn (Eileen), and her niece, Ann Durloo.
Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marjorie’s life.
