Kenneth Wallace Bivens

Ken Bivens, age 69, of Jackson, TN passed away on June 30, 2012 . He fought a long battle with cancer, but ultimately the victory is his as he is now home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He retired from the U.S. Air force after twenty years of service. He served during the gulf war in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was a probation and parole officer for the State of Tennessee before retiring. Ken is survived by his loving fiancée, Bobbie Martin of Jackson. His children Kennie Bivens(Brenda) of Jackson, Sonya Acuff (Paul) of Milan and Brandon Bivens ( Morgan) of Nashville. He adored his five grandchildren, Lauren Sims, Morgan Acuff, Hannah Acuff, Brooke Bivens, Hollen Bivens and his only great- grandson, Dalton Sims. He also leaves his sisters Janie Taylor, Joann Murphee, and Sandra Tedford and many “old coots” he called friends. He also had a special place in his heart for Bobbie’s children, Dawn Hardin (William) and Ashley Hook (John) and her grandson Parker Hook. . Funeral services will be held on Tuesday ,July 3, 2012 at 10:00 am in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
