Julia (Painter) Odle passed from this life to be with her Lord on April 4, 2018. She was born in Stanley, VA, graduated from Page County High School and attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. She made her home in Medon, TN.
She leavers her husband, J.R. (Jim) Odle and stepson, Todd Odle of Jackson. One of her biggest joys and love of her life was being Nana to her grandson, Keaton Odle. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Painter of Luray, VA; a sister, Kim Whitley (Gary) of Harrisonburg, VA; a brother, Timmy Painter (Tiffany); along with two nephews, Justin and Ethan of Stuarts Draft, VA. In addition to her family, she also leaves a host of friends and coworkers.
She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and retired from the US Postal Service. She was very active and served as President of the VFW Post 6496 ladies auxiliary.
The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held on Saturday afternoon, April 7, 2018 from 3-5 pm. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. with David Tubbs and Warren Jones officiating. Private interment will take place at Clover Creek Cemetery in Medon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
