Jenny Ausban Hamilton

She was born on April 30, 1933. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1951 and entered Lambuth College, where she met her future husband Joe Hamilton from Mayfield, Kentucky. They married in 1952 and were married 38 years, until his death in 1990.

To this union, three children were born. William “Bill” Joseph Hamilton (JoEllen) of Jackson, TN. Robert “Bob” Lee Hamilton and Susan Virginia Hamilton Williams (Joey) of Jackson, TN.

She leaves the following grandchildren: Stephanie Hamilton Alexander (Josh) of Franklin, TN; Bryan Hamilton (Candice) of Germantown, TN; Angela Hamilton McCrady (Tommy) of Eads, TN; Mary Frances Hamilton Nash (Nathan) of Jackson, TN; Joseph Kyle Williams (Kelly) of Jackson, TN; Stephen Willett Hamilton (Julie) of Surprise, Arizona; Allison Williams Shackelford (Scott) of Medina, TN; Ginger Williams Rodgers (Jacoby) of Medina, TN; Cody Allen Williams (Courtney) of Dyersburg, TN; and Gabriel Williams of Jackson, TN.

Jenny, as her friends lovingly called her, was raised in Hays Avenue Methodist Church and was a member of Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She loved counting the church offering every Monday, teaching 2 and 3 year olds and spending time with her Sunday School class- the A.D. Oxley Class. Jenny loved the sunshine, the beach and trips to Florida. One of her favorite pastimes was painting ceramics, and she continued this into her 80s. She was a big part of her family’s businesses, Ausban Letter Shop and Tom Lawler’s. Jenny loved shopping, spending time with family, and her beloved dogs. She was an advocate for everyone owning a pet, and she made sure everyone knew that dogs were her family too!

Preceding her in death were her loving parents, Bill and Clara Ausban, her grandparents, William and Mary King, her dear husband, Joseph “Joe” Allen Hamilton, and her son Robert “Bob” Lee Hamilton of Eads, TN.

She leaves the fellowship of her great grandchildren. Tacker, Tristan, Max, and Nora Grace Nash of Jackson, TN. Lillie Claire and Will Alexander of Franklin, TN. Avi and David Hamilton of Surprise, Arizona. Lily and Logan Williams of Jackson, TN. Joeigh and Kye Shackelford of Medina, TN. Hadley and Merritt Rodgers of Medina, TN. Edy and August Williams of Dyersburg, TN. Joseph and Savannah Hamilton of Germantown, TN. Aiden and Annalynn McCrady of Eads, TN.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Jackson Oaks for their loving care of her the last few years. They’d also like to thank the AseraCare Hospice team who cared for her the last several weeks until her death.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, January 30th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, presided by her son-in-law Joey Williams. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery. Jenny loved bright colors so please wear bright, colorful attire to the funeral.

Pallbearers to serve are Kyle Williams, Cody Williams, Gabe Williams, Stephen Hamilton, Tacker Nash, Tristan Nash, Max Nash and Will Alexander.

Honorary pallbearers will be Reggie Smith, George Dean, and Robert Conder.
