Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bell will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 1 o'clock, with visitation one hour before at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel, with interment beside her late husband, Crockett Bell, at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Jamie was born in Houston, Texas, and lovingly raised by her parents, Horace and Martha Dunagan, alongside her six brothers and sisters on a farm in Yorkville, Tennessee. She began her teaching career after receiving her teaching certificate from the University of Tennessee, Martin. During her teaching years, she met and married the love of her life, Crockett Bell, from Rutherford, Tennessee. Together, they became proud owners and operators of David Crockett Furniture and Appliances in Rutherford, later relocating to Jackson, Tennessee, where they owned and managed the Kirby dealership.
Jamie is survived by her cherished three daughters: Pamela Reece (Jack) of Panama City, Florida; Patricia Cummings (Larry) of Birmingham, Alabama; and Dianne Burress (Jim) from Jackson, Tennessee. Her legacy continues through eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great, great-grandchildren. Additionally, Jamie is survived by her younger sister, Kay Pafford, of Yorkville, Tennessee.
Jamie was an active member of Skyline Church of Christ in Jackson, Tennessee, throughout her life. She called Jackson Meadows her home for eight years, where she forged many enduring friendships.
