James Robert "Jim" Pharis, age 70 of Jackson, was received into Heaven on May 5, 2015 at his home. Memorial services for Jim will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Interment will be held privately at Highland Memorial Gardens.
Jim was born on May 10, 1944 in Nebraska, the son of the late Lydia Blaha Pharis and Robert Pharis.
Jim was the President and Owner of Pharis Thermodynamics. He was also a former member of Toastmasters International, the Society of Automotive Engineers, previous chairman of March of Dimes Walk America, Founder of Copper Country Chorale (now celebrating 50 years of making music), an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a member of the Methodist Men Organization, church choir, Exalt Men's Ensemble, and cantor for communion at Aldersgate. Jim was also a devoted and loyal Green Bay Packer fan and was a proud team stockholder.
Jim is survived by his wife, Robin Laurene Pharis; daughter, Lynne Drahman (Chris); Son, Bill Pharis; Father, Robert Pharis; grandchildren, Abigail and Nicholas Drahman; a sister, Diane Singer (Paul); and a brother, Daniel Pharis (Tammy).
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lewis Pharis and his mother, Lydia Pharis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Of West Tennessee, 1804 Hwy 45 Bypass, Ste. 100, Jackson, TN 38305.Visitation with Jim's family will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 1-2 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
