Ms. Dee, a woman of many talents and roles, found her greatest joy in being called "Grammy" by her grandkids and great-grandkids – they were the light that illuminated her life.
Ms. Dee's warmth extended beyond her family, and her legendary homemade potato salad and cookies were a testament to the love she poured into everything she did. Her zest for life and love of adventure were reflected in her passion for travel – she was always ready for a new experience.
To those who knew her, Ms. Dee's door was not just physically open; it was a symbol of her open heart and accepting nature. Ms. Dee embraced and celebrated diversity, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of acceptance and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
Born on June 3, 1937, in Hardin, Montana, to the late Daniel Armijo and Hanna Nagel Armijo, Ms. Dee was preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly Ohlin (Ronald) and Florence Outcelt (John). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Witt and Jack Green.
Ms. Dee is survived by her sister, Sharon Brown (Donald), and leaves behind a loving family: four children, Douglas Witt (Denise), Dawn Deloach, Dirk Witt (Brittany), and Denise Witt (Edward). Her legacy continues through seven grandchildren: Derek, Shawn, Max, Gus, Michelle, John, and Erica. Honorary grandchildren, Heather and Brandie, and two great-grandchildren, Carson and Hudson, also mourn her passing.
A Celebration of Life for Ms. Dee will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, with viewing from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Ms. Dee will be laid to rest in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials in Ms. Dee's memory be directed to the Dream Center of Jackson. Contributions can be made by checks payable to Dream Center of Jackson, P.O. Box 3621, Jackson, TN 38303.
