Cora Isabelle Walker

She was born in Trezevant, TN on February 10, 1929 to Charlie and Nena Hames. Cora was a very dedicated member of Wards Grove Baptist Church for many years. Cora was a hairdresser for forty years and was licensed in three states.

She was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings; her first husband, L.B. Crocker; and two sons, Jimmy and Tommy Crocker.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Bennett Walker, Sr.; a sister, Esther Allen of Jackson; Daughters, Janie Prokop of Pontiac, IL, Belinda Wade (Jay) of Franklin, TN, and Becky Beal (Brian) of Jackson, TN; sons, Barry Walker of Nashville and Buddy Walker (Marla) of Jackson; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday Evening, December 7, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel.

Funeral services for Cora will be conducted on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 12 Noon at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with Bro. Ken Skelton and Dr. Matt Tomlin officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Milan, TN.

Active Pallbearers to serve will be Joey Prokop, Terry Crocker, Tony Stafford, Blake Beal, Jay Wade, and Jimmy Crocker.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her son, Barry Walker and nephew, Byron Allen.

The deacons at Wards Grove Baptist Church are asked to sit together during the funeral service.
