Mr. William “Hugh” Smith, Jr., 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held from 9:30- 11:00 AM on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Lakewood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
He had a lifelong career working with heavy equipment. He had been employed with T & H Equipment and Rebel Auction.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his daughter, Major General Catherine Smith Lutz; his parents, William Hugh Smith, Sr. and Susie Johnson Smith; brother, Marion Carl “Bubba” Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rebecca H. Smith; sons, Huey Smith (Donna), Louie Smith (Jan), Tony Smith; daughter, Lissa Rau (Butch); son-in-law, Major General (Retired) William Lutz; sister, Sue Nowell; brother, Elbert Smith (Bobbie); 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild on the way.
